A Historical War Kurukshetra

Kurukshetra ( MahaBharat )

The Kurukshetra War in the Mahabharata is one of the most significant events in Hindu mythology, involving a large number of deaths on both sides: the Kauravas and the Pandavas. The exact sequence of deaths is not completely outlined in a single place in the epic, as the war lasted for 18 days, with many of the deaths occurring gradually over this period. However, I can provide a rough chronological order of the most notable deaths:

Day 1 to Day 10:

During the early days of the war, both sides suffer significant losses, but many of the major figures do not die until later.

  1. Bhishma (on the 10th day):
On the 10th day, Bhishma, the grandsire of both the Kauravas and Pandavas, is felled by Arjuna. Bhishma is mortally wounded by Arjuna using the Shikhandi as a shield, as Bhishma had vowed not to fight a woman or one born as a woman. Though Bhishma is not immediately killed, he falls on a bed of arrows and survives for several days due to his boon of choosing the time of his death. Day 1 To Day 10 For More Info Click Here👈

Day 11 to Day 15:

  1. Abhimanyu (on the 13th day):
Arjuna's son, Abhimanyu, is killed on the 13th day by a combination of Kaurava warriors. Abhimanyu breaches the Chakravyuha (a military formation) but is trapped and ultimately slain by a group of Kaurava warriors, including Duryodhana, Dushasana, Karna, and others.

  2. Duryodhana's Brothers (on various days):
Duryodhana's 99 brothers (the Kaurava princes) are killed throughout the war. Some notable deaths include:

    • Dushasana (on the 17th day): Killed by Bhima, who vows to drink his blood as revenge for the disrobing of Draupadi.
    • Durmukha, Dushkarna, and others die at different times. day 11 to 15 For More Info click here👈

Day 16 to Day 18:

  1. Karna (on the 17th day):
On the 17th day of the war, Karna, one of the greatest warriors on the Kaurava side, is killed by Arjuna. His death is significant because it is a result of a combination of factors: Karna's chariot wheel gets stuck in the ground, and he is unarmed at the time. He is shot by Arjuna while he is vulnerable, and his chariot is stuck, despite the intervention of Indra and his celestial armor being taken by Lord Krishna.

  2. Duryodhana (on the 18th day):
On the 18th and final day of the war, Duryodhana, the leader of the Kauravas, is fatally wounded by Bhima. Bhima strikes Duryodhana on the thigh, which is against the rules of war, as it is considered an unworthy blow. Duryodhana dies from this wound, marking the final fall of the Kaurava forces.

  3. Shakuni (on the 18th day):
Shakuni, the mastermind behind much of the Kauravas' treachery, is also killed on the 18th day. After Duryodhana's defeat, Sahadeva (one of the Pandava brothers) kills Shakuni in revenge for his role in the dice game and the plotting against the Pandavas. Other Important Deaths:

  • Jayadratha (on the 14th day): Killed by Arjuna in revenge for the death of his son, Abhimanyu. Arjuna swears to kill Jayadratha before sunset, and he successfully does so.
  • Vikarna: One of Duryodhana's brothers, killed on the 18th day.

Summary of Key Deaths:

  • Day 10: Bhishma (mortally wounded)
  • Day 13: Abhimanyu
  • Day 14: Jayadratha
  • Day 17: Karna
  • Day 18: Duryodhana, Shakuni, and many Kaurava warriors

By the end of the war, almost all of the Kauravas and their allies are killed, and the Pandavas emerge victorious, but at great cost. The destruction of the Kaurava army is complete, but the Pandavas are left to reflect on the moral and emotional toll of the war. For More Info Click here👈
